To mark National Families Week, the team from Gunnedah Family Support threw open its doors to the public Wednesday for a morning of fun, games and brunch.
Gunnedah Family Support family worker Judy Cavanagh said the theme of this year’s National Families Week was “stronger families, stronger communities”.
“It was a terrific day,” Ms Cavanagh.
“To see some of the local kids from Mary Ranken Childcare Centre come along and having fun was great and I think that is what National Families Week is all about.”

Ms Cavanagh said the event was also a chance for the team to showcase what is on offer to the community.
“We provide a range of services here,” she said.
“It is all about strengthening families and also highlighting some of our current and upcoming programs.
“For instance starting on May 22 we will be hosting our Bringing Up Great Kids program for parents and carers of kids who are under 12-years of age.
“That program just like our Little Footprints, PPP Parenting Program and It’s Your Turn to Shine programs are all designed around helping to strengthen local families and in turn our community.”
Ms Cavanagh said anyone interested in any of the programs on offer can contact Gunnedah Family Support.
“As some of our programs run over several weeks it is advisable of people to get in early and book their place.
“More details about all of our programs are on our website gunnedahfamilysupport.org.au or people can give us a call on 6742 1515.”
