Councillors will decide whether to approve more than $35,000 of council funds for repairs to the two facilities.
Recyclit will be the first of the two proposals discussed with $11,715 needed for adding harness points to the building structure and repairs to the recycling centre’s roof which was damaged during a hail storm last November.
The building, which is leased from council by Gunnedah Workshop Enterprises, is in line for new polycarbonate roof sheets that since installation have become brittle and damaged due to the hail storm.
According to the council business paper, currently the holes in the roof allow for water to enter the building during rain events, and wet areas where staff work.

The commentary goes on to state that the holes are causing operational issues and is considered to also be a potential safety hazard.
The other $24,000 is being proposed for repairs to the waste management facility’s weighbridge.
A calibration of the weighbridge in November last year found that the cells on the weighbridge were twisting and pulling the electrical cables that provide the weighbridge weights and functions of the ‘TipSite Systems’ computer.
According to the business paper, council states the contractor undertaking the calibration advised that there is a “real risk” that these cables will break, resulting in the weighbridge not being able to function at all.
Councillors will make a decision on whether to allocate the funds at the meeting in council chambers from 4.30pm on Wednesday.
