In the opens division, Andrew Muddle Plumbing clashed with the 15s Rep side.
The game was played in very hot conditions later in the day with 15s Rep coming out winners 42-25 over Andrew Muddle Plumbing.
However, the final score didn’t indicate what a high level the game was played at, 15s Rep coach Theres Jones said.
”It was a hard, competitively contested game with experience going up against youth,” Jones said.
“Some very exciting netball was on display with both teams showing their skills.”
Jones said the way her team came together was impressive with a few new faces in the side.
“I was very impressed with my girls as a whole,” she said.
“The team has three new players this year and they are jelling together well.
“Although I thought all of the 15s Rep played well for our first game together, our standout players were Sara Baker, Lily Jensen and Sophie Williams.”
Despite not getting the win, Andrew Muddle Plumbing coach Jen Muddle said it was a great way to start the season.
“It was an enjoyable, but hard, first game for the opens competition,” Muddle said.
“Congratulations to the 15s Rep on a well played game.
“While we have a few new players in the team this year, they all slotted into their positions well.”
For Andrew Muddle Plumbing, Emma Costello and Marlee Urquhart were two of the side’s most impressive players on the day.
