A crowd of more than 50 people has turned out to commemerate Anzac Day in Breeza.
Locals of all ages gathered at the villages cenotaph for a morning service to pay their respects for Australia’s service men and women from past and present.
The ceremony was also an opportunity for the community to pay tribute to local returned servicemen Stan Matthews who passed away in recent weeks.
Along with the tribute, the ceremony included the laying of wreaths by several local returned servicemen and relatives.
Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey and councillor Rob Hooke were on hand to lay a wreath at the foot of the cenotaph and pay their respects.
The Namoi Valley Independent will have continuing coverage of Anzac Day celebrations across the shire throughout the day.
