The library has a fun and crafty school holiday program running each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning for the young children at 10.30am to 11am, and in the afternoon for older children from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. The theme for the holidays is “Colours”, and younger children will have the opportunity to participate in storytelling and a simple handicraft. The older children can get creative by painting rocks, and creating various lolly stick objects during their sessions.

The sessions are free, but bookings are preferred for the older children – please ring 6740 2190 to secure a place. So come along and enjoy yourselves!
There’s also the opportunity for Curlewis children to take part in the program on Mondays from 1pm until 3pm.
Plenty of new books have been added for young readers. Among the novels are: New Jungle Book Adventures: Spirit of the jungle by Bear Grylls; 1915: Do you dare? Jimmy’s War, an historical novel by S. Clark set during World War I and Here Be Monsters by Alan Snow.
For beginning readers there’s a Peppa Pig book called Stars and Stories for one year olds. There are also two board books, Animals and Numbers.
Children who prefer listening to books could try, The Pet Sitter: Tiger Taming and Dixie in Danger by Julie Sykes – the book is almost two hours long! There’s also Billie B Brown: Collection 2, that runs for an hour.
Great fun for the young and the young at heart is Minuscule: The private life of insects.
See you soon at the library!
