The Elders Real Estate employee was named number one rural salesperson of the year for NSW, and came second nationally for real estate. He also received an elite salesperson of the year award.
The award event was held aboard the Starship Sydney on the Sydney Harbour, with around 300 Elders staff attending.
Mr McArthur found out he was in the running for an award about a month ago but never expected to bring home three.
“I was very shocked in regards to the national award,” he said.
“I just felt that the national award was the cream on the cake.
“You’ve got to make huge sales to achieve it. It’s a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication and a lot of long hours.”

Mr McArthur has been at the Gunnedah branch for 10 years and deals in residential, rural and commercial real estate. Since 2013 he has rated in the top four for rural salespersons in the Elder awards. This is the second time he has been named number one rural saleperson of the year.
“It’s all about knowing people and knowing the properties and understanding rural aspects from farming to grazing and irrigation,” he said.
“My background, previously being a farmer, has given me a good base and understanding of all those elements.”
Mr McArthur said the awards helped cement his reputation as a real estate agent.
“It give people the confidence that they’re dealing with a professional that knows his business and has been successful.”
The real estate agent said he has no plans to leave the industry any time soon.
“I enjoy looking at different properties and I enjoy meeting different people,” he said.
