The push comes off the back of a Fairfax Media poll, which revealed 85 per cent of voters indicated Gunnedah needs a second Return and Earn site.
The Namoi Valley Independent recently revealed Gunnedahs Return and Earn site was in the top third of sites in the state, having had more than 1.3 million containers returned to the site since the scheme began in December last year.
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said he was impressed with Gunnedahs return rate. There has been a lot of positive comment about Gunnedahs Return and Earn site, Mr Anderson said.
We always knew it would be a community success.
Mr Anderson said he would continue to push to bring another Return and Earn site to Gunnedah.
I am keen to look to working with the Gunnedah community to provide another Return and Earn machine, he said.
I am happy to encourage local businesses looking to get involved with over-the-counter returns to contact the schemes partner Tomra-Cleanaway.

The Tamworth MP said it was unclear how long it would take for Gunnedah to receive another facility.
Im not sure of what sort of time-frame is involved, he said.
But, I am going to keep on pushing for another machine.
Return and Earn sites around the state will be closed on Good Friday, including reverse vending machines (RVM), over-the-counter collection points, donation stations and automated depots. Locals are being encouraged to check with their local over-the-counter facilities for opening times over the long-weekend, while RVM and donation stations will resume normal trading from Saturday March 31.
