The event hosted by youth support group headspace will give young people the chance to give headspace feedback on current youth issues in Gunnedah.
Gunnedah Shire Council’s youth development officer Sewa Emojong said the event provided Gunnedah’s young people with an opportunity to have their say.
“Gunnedah Youth Council is in full support of headspace talking to our youth at a ‘catch up’ event on Friday,” Ms Emojong said.
“headspace is looking to fill the gap in local youth mental health services, and I would encourage young people from 12-25 to have their say on the issues youth in the community face.
“This is an opportunity for their voices to be heard and for services to be streamlined to suit the needs of our community.
“Services accessible to all youth are a positive step in the right direction.”

headspace youth and community engagement officer Avril Oakley-Hollow said the event will be a chance for the youth in the Gunnedah community to have its say.
“The event is called ‘catch-up with headspace’ and we will have free pizza and free games as well as an opportunity for the community to get to know us,” Ms Oakley-Hollow said.
“We are looking for members for our youth reference group, they make lots of decisions within headspace and shape how services are delivered.
“It’s voluntary and a real ability for anyone who has an interest to get involved.”
The event kicks off from 4pm at Wolseley Park on Friday March 16.
