Grass roots organisations can now apply for grants for NAIDOC Week 2018 activities.
The grants of up to $3000 are available to organisations, which would like to run local events marking NAIDOC Week, the annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said this was a great initiative from the NSW government.
“NAIDOC Week is a unique opportunity to come together and recognise the culture, history and achievements of our first australians and their contributions to this country,” he said.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Sarah Mitchell said that she looks forward to seeing how communities across the state use the NAIDOC Week grants.
“I encourage local organisations to apply for grant funding to host events during this NAIDOC Week that celebrate the important place Aboriginal people play in our communities,” she said.
Grant applications are now open and close on Friday, April 20, 2018. For information and how to apply, visit Aboriginal Affairs NSW online at https://www.aboriginalaffairs.nsw.gov.au/grants/naidoc-week-grants
