Gunnedah Little Athletics Club has been buoyed by two recent grants.
The club has received $1000 from Optus and $2000 from Greater Bank community grant. The Optus grant will be used to upgrade or purchase new quality sports gear, which will be utilised by more than 80 children in the club.
More than 120 children from across Gunnedah will benefit from the generous donation.

Club president Ben Sawyer said the donations would have a positive impact on the local club and its members.
“It’s going to be great,” he said.
“We can do more coaching activities but also we’ve got a clinic potentially with Melinda Gainsford Taylor in April and we’re hoping we can use some of that sponsorship money to subsidise the kids instead of them paying.”

The funds will also go towards maintenance of equipment and grounds fees for Wolseley Park where the children train under five coaches each week.
“Having access to quality, reliable training equipment for our children is vital to helping them perform at their best,” Mr Sawyer said.
“We can also put on a better presentation day for parents and athletes.”
