Gunnedah Salvation Army’s Gaye Day said the support was “great to see”.
“The community spirit has been fantastic,” Mrs Day said.
“People were so quick to offer to help in any way they could, even offering the family accommodation on the night of the fire.
“We are currently encouraging anyone looking to help with a donation of any sort to get in contact with the Gunnedah Anglican Church who will be taking donations until we can ascertain exactly what the family needs.”
Gunnedah Anglican Church minister Scott Dunlop said “the church is happy to take donations”.
“The family have been a part of our church family for sometime now and as a family we are looking to be there for the family in any way we can,” Mr Dunlop.
“We encourage anyone looking to donate to the family to get in contact with us on 6742 0038.”
Family friend Brendon Riley has taken to Facebook to gather support for the family.
“I put a post on the Tamworth ‘Who, What, Where, Why and How’ page on Wednesday morning and support has come flooding in since,” Mr Riley said.
“The results have been overwhelming for instance, we have had a woman from Woolamin donate everything the family will need to start again in a new home.”
Gunnedah First National principal Mike Brady said his agency would assist the family in finding permanent accommodation.
“The family have been terrific tenants for the last six years and we would like to help find them something as quickly as possible,” Mr Brady said.
“At this stage we are looking at a number options and we will continue to assist the family in finding something suitable.”
The Gunnedah real estate agent said he and his team were thinking of the family at this difficult time.
“From everyone here at Gunnedah First National our hearts go out the family,” Mr Brady said.
“If there is anyone who thinks they may have a property suitable and is looking to assist we encourage them to come by and have a discussion with us.”
Mr Riley said the family is grateful for the support from the community.
“We know we can’t replace everything but it’s nice to see the community donate anything that will help the family get started,” Mr Riley said.
“The family is very thankful for the community support and it’s so nice to see everyone coming together to help out a great family.”
