The teenager is 2017 dux of the school after performing well in the Higher School Certificate.
Amelia received an ATAR of 90.35 and received band 6s in PDHPE and music one, and band 5s in maths, advanced English and legal studies.
“I was happy with most of my results although I was expecting slightly higher in one of my subjects [but] I was mostly just relieved to finally find out what the results were, allowing me to have a decent night’s sleep again,” she said.
“I was particularly happy with [and] surprised by my advanced English results as that was something that I had always struggled with, but with loads of help off my amazing English teacher, I was able to do better than expected.
“I was greatly blessed in the education that I received allowing me to achieve these results and I am happy that I worked to the best of my ability throughout the year, getting me closer to my goal of studying physiotherapy [at the University of Newcastle in 2018].”
