The St Mary’s student was recently named in the 2018 Netball NSW Talent Development Squad (TDS).
The TDS is made up of 29 of NSW’s best up and coming netballers, aged from 15-19, and will train together once a week under the guidance of top state coaches.
The squad will also play in the Heart Cup in February.
Also recently selected in the Northern NSW 2018 Regional Development Squad, the TDS selection caps off a big year for Perkins.
She was named captain of the 2017 NIAS netball squad and named mvp at both the Clubs NSW Academy Games and Australian Youth Invitational Games.
Those accolades contributed to her being named the NIAS Female Athlete of the Year and the NIAS netballer of the year. Perkins was also part of the Glen Innes U17s team that won Division 3 at the State Championships and the Glen Innes Division 1 side that won the Northern Inland Regional League.
