Locals gathered at the Mullaley Post Office hotel to buy tickets for the big wheel and help the Mullaley Public School raise funds for a third teacher and additional educational support.
Mullaley Post Office Hotel publican Lisa Commins said the event was very well receved by the community.
"A lot of people have commented how big and fun it was,” Mrs Commins said.
“Many have said they haven't seen the Pub like that for 10 to 15 years.”
“We will get through the holiday period and then start doing the usual meat raffles and come up with some other ideas,” she said.
“We are keen to bring back specials meal nights too.”
Mullaley P&C president Sheryal Martin described the event as “massive”.
We are still unsure of the overall amount raised,” Mrs Martin said.
“It was flat-out the whole time and we are reasonably confident that we will have raised enough money for what we need.”
Mrs Martin praised the efforts of the hotel staff.
“We are really stoked the event was such a success,” she said.
“A lot of that comes down to the Commins family and how well they handled it all.”
