On Friday, about $6500 was raised for the school’s P&C for various projects.
One of the organisers, teacher Adam Mooney, said the event was well-supported.
“We are absolutely overwhelmed with all the support from the Gunnedah community,” he said.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and we hope you had a fantastic night.”
Principal Shane Kelly said he was “over the moon” about the result.
”[I’m] extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve as a staff in rebuilding a struggling school,” he said.
“The turn out [on Friday] night by the community, the atmosphere of the evening, what we where able to showcase, on a first attempt at this event, was amazing.
“It was an enormous vote of the returning confidence the community has in GHS as they recognise all the good things we are doing, and we are being successful in getting this message out there.”
