Motors were running loud and memories coming thick and fast, as nearly 200 Chevrolet enthusiasts gathered at the Gunnedah Rural Museum on Friday.

Members of the museum hosted the Veteran and Vintage Chevrolet Association of Australia, as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
Almost 80 cars and 200 people filled the museum grounds as members of both organisations admired vehicles from years gone by.
Chevrolet association member Rick Malone said the past week in Gunnedah has been fantastic and the museum trip was a real highlight.
“The community has been great to us during our stay here.” Mr Malone said.
“We’ve seen some fantastic things during our time here, this museum shares our enthusiasm for preserving the past.”
Gunnedah Rural Museum member Bill Barry said the morning tea could only do good things for the museum.
“We are very proud of our collection here, the more people who see it can share with others how worthwhile it is,” Mr Barry said.
“To us it is all about preserving these important pieces so that younger people can get a better understanding of how things used to be.”
Mr Malone echoed the importance the Chevrolet Association places on preserving the past.
“We feel exactly the same,” Mr Malone said.
“All of these cars are originals, some may have had safety modifications added to them but otherwise they are as they were when the were built.”
The Veteran and Vintage Chevrolet Association of Australia will cap off their time in Gunnedah with a presentation dinner at the Gunnedah town hall.
