The 10-year-old Gunnedah South Public School student secured a part in the musical as feature orphan Tessy.
“She’s the third youngest and she’s a cry baby,” Olivia said.
“Mum and me went to an audition and I sang some songs and did some acting. I was called back for Annie and the feature orphans the next week with 20 other girls. I then found out a week later I got a part, I was at a friend’s house and I face-timed mum and she told me she got a call, I was very excited.”
Olivia is a regular in the music, dance and drama scene, taking on singing lessons, choir, drama lessons and is a dancer with Totally Dance Studios.
“I really like acting and I hope to be in more musicals in the future,” Olivia said.
Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
Tamworth Musical Society are putting on 10 shows at the Capitol Theatre starting on October 27.
