“The incident is still under investigation,” a Pacific National spokesperson said on Friday.
The train was travelling from Emerald Hill to the Port of Newcastle on January 16 when five wagons derailed, spilling grain from three wagons.
The track’s main line was closed for a number of days during recovery of the wagons. The nearby vehicle crossing was also shut.
At least two passenger train services from Moree and Armidale were transferred to coaches, due to the track’s closure. All other train services north of Gunnedah were also halted.
Police attended the crash scene at the corner of Goolhi and Francis Studdy roads, but no injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has flagged a temporary closure of level crossings between Kooragang, Ulan and Narrabri from February 21-24. More information; artc.com.au/events
