The successful businesswoman is partnering with not-for-profit organisation, Dress For Success to provide free online training to help women gain and sustain employment.
Dress For Success aims to empower women to gain economic independence by providing professional clothing, a support network and development tools to help women succeed in their workplace and personal life.
Mrs Anderson tailor-made the free training program which will be introduced over a 12-month period to women registered with Dress For Success. The 24 topics include assertiveness and self confidence, job search skills, time management, conflict resolution, and creative problem solving.
“I’ve spent a lot of time and effort getting it ready,” she said.
“I’m really excited because I’ve been working on this for some months on the back end.”
Mrs Anderson confirmed her partnership with Dress For Success at the organisation’s conference in New Zealand early this month where she featured as a speaker.
She visited the Dress for Success head office in New York last year when she was overseas to receive a bronze Stevie award.
She said she had been thinking about getting involved for around 18 months because she wanted to use her skills to help unemployed women.
“So many women are left in disadvantaged positions, whether they choose to or not, and if it helps them get back into the workplace, then I’ve done my bit,” she said.
The online training program is being piloted in Australia and New Zealand from January 2017 with the view of rolling it out in other countries.
“Next year, I will also be offering the women who have already found employment, and are still registered with Dress for Success, the full Self Confident Women 12 month membership (50 topics) at a highly discounted rate to assist them in retaining their employment,” Mrs Anderson said.
The businesswoman said she would return to the head office in New York if her program is a success.
“One of the things I like about broadcasting news like this in Gunnedah is that you can do amazing things like this no matter where you go,” she said.
Mrs Anderson started her web-based business Self Confident Women in 2010. She assists women from all walks of life to become more confident, increase their skills and take charge of their lives.
