Jess, who is a member of Apex, will take part in the World’s Greatest Shave at the Sunday Session markets on March 13.
The mother of three boys is raising money for local five-year-old girl Ava Luke, who has leukaemia.
She said she had a taste of how difficult life with a sick child can be when her son Jack had a tumour in his back removed.
“On our many trips to the oncology ward with our eldest, we saw that the amount of people who have been in there is unreal,” Jess said.
“Cancer is all but everywhere in my family, so I am doing this to raise money.
“I know how financially constraining it can be.”
Jess said the money raised would go towards travel and accommodation costs for Ava and her family, and futher research.
People can donate money to the cause online at my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/jesswild or in one of the collection tins at Gunnedah businesses including the View St Shop, Evolution Therapies and Movies Plus.
People are welcome to come along on the day to donate.
