Gunnedah Golf Club was a hive of activity last weekend when Wauchope Warriors made the trip inland to compete in the second round of the competition.

Players competed in a fourball stableford on Saturday sponsored by JA Berry Pty Ltd. and an ambrose event on Sunday sponsored by Harvey Norman.
The overall score for the trophy was very close after the Gunnedah visit to Wauchope last May and last weekend with Gunnedah coming out on top 32 to 31.
In Saturday’s fourball Jack Kent and John Harford with 47 points were the best of the Gunnedah golfers and Gary Cook and Adam Marchment with 41 points, the best from Wauchope.
Scott Hardy and Steve McInnes with 46 points were the runners-up for Gunnedah and Robert Laurie and Alan Towle with 41 points came in second for the visitors.
Ian Elphick and Barry Turner with 45 points filled the fourth spot for the locals and Clark Joyce and Neil Hudson with 40 points for Wauchope.
Paul Kokegei and Dave Laurie took out the NAGA for Gunnedah.

In the ball competition balls were won by Paul Bennett, Adrian Guest, Geoff Doubleday, Allan Deaves, Roger Percy, John Stanley, John Millerd, Steve Gardner, Mark Kenny, Garren Cruickshank, Peter Vernon, Tim Kennedy, Steve Berry, Dan Jones, Matt Boag, Darren Mulherin, Tony Bennett, Bob Hopkins, Dave Porter, Rick Sampson, Brad Maggs, Michael Wheeler, Jason Perrett, Rod Coe, Peter Knight and Darren Fuller.
In the ambrose event on Sunday the winners were Ian Elphick, Rod Franklin, Barry Turner and Sonny Mackney with 551/2 followed by Paul Bennett, Peter Cook, Adrian Guest and J. Uden with 565/8 and brock Beasley, Justin Cole, Sean O’Dell and Joey Bower with 571/8 in third place.
Nearest-the-pins: 3rd hole Brad Maggs, 5th Team Hopkins, 9th Team Pamplin, 11th J. Uden, 14th Team Koch, 18th Scott Baker.
In the ball competition balls went to Team McInnes, Team Barbato, Team Birch, Team Koch, Team Porter, Team Hardy and Team Vernon.
In mid-week golf the fourball winners were Peter Birch and Brian Mitchell with 53 points from Anthony Jones and Tony Jones with 52 points and Greg Anderson and John Winterton with 50 points on a countback.
In the singles event the winners were Greg Anderson with 29 points from Brian Mitchell with 28 points and Henry Constable with 26 points on a countback.
