Police were called to a residence after two males were seen entering the backyard of the property.
On arrival, police chased two males from the rear yard and apprehended a 19-year-old man.
Police will allege the incident was an attempt to steal after further investigations revealed entry had been forced into the premises and a number of items were disturbed.
The man was charged with aggravated break and enter and refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
POLICE are looking for information after items were stolen from a non-residential building on South Street.
Some time between 4.30pm on Friday, August 21 and 4.30pm on Friday, August 28, the building was broken into.
Police are appealing for any witnesses.
A 47-YEAR-OLD Gunnedah man has charges pending on a number of historic break and enter offences.
On Saturday, the man was arrested by police after forensic evidence identified him in relation to two separate incidents occuring in the Gunnedah shire and surrounds in 2013.
A 43-YEAR-OLD Gunnedah woman has been issued with a fine for offensive behaviour after urinating in front of the Gunnedah Police Station.
At around 1.45am on Sunday morning the incident occurred and the woman was issued with an infringement notice.
A 53-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with mid-range drink driving.
At 4.15pm on Sunday, the man was stopped by police at a stationary RBT site on View Street.
He returned a positive result and was arrested and taken back to Gunnedah Police Station where he later returned a mid-range reading.
He was charged and will appear in court at a later date.
SOME time between 5pm on August 27 and 8am on August 31 a home was broken into on South Street.
Police said the offender or offenders gained access to a shed at the rear of the property and items were stolen.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident.

The address was broken into at around 1.30pm and police are appealing to any witnesses.
A TEENAGE girl has been located safe and well after she was reported missing on Friday.
The girl, who is from Boggabri, failed to return home from school in Gunnedah and was reported missing.
She was located on Sunday in Tamworth and picked up by a relative.
