Hundreds of students from Gunnedah and beyond attended the Questacon Science Circus at the Town Hall on Thursday night.
The circus featured more than 40 interactive exhibits and science shows.
Science Circus presenters held fire in their hands, lay on a bed of nails, and made beach balls float.
“Our exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to get hands-on with science,” Science Circus presenter Charlotte Fletcher said.
“It’s a great way to discover new things about our world and explore the science and technology all around us.”
The team visited local schools throughout the Gunnedah region last week, sharing flying rockets, freezing liquid nitrogen and gooey slime with students through a range of interactive science shows.
The Science Circus was presented by 15 postgraduate students studying a Master of Science Communication Outreach at The Australian National University.
The students spend three months of the year visiting communities all over Australia to engage people with science and technology.
