The former Gunnedah man, who moved to Sydney to pursue a career with NSW Fire and Rescue, “cut his teeth on music”, singing in the family band as a youngster.
He grew up on a 161,000 hectare cattle station, west of Cobar, and went on to travel around America, “chasing good country music”, driving trucks and breaking horses.
Four years in the US cemented his resolve to return to Australia and make a career out of country music.
Dan’s ambition was fuelled further after receiving critical acclaim from peers following successful shows at the Gympie Muster, Mud Bulls and Music Festival, and the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Dan wrote and recorded his most recent album ‘Livin’ the Dream’ in Nashville with producer Mike Flanders.
The album includes 12 tracks, with six brand new songs co-written with some of America’s best songwriters.
The singer/songwriter/firefighter is set to appear at the Tamworth Country Music Festival at a number of venues, starting last week.
