A field of 95 players competed for great prizes on Saturday in the Mornington Butchery sponsored stableford event at the Gunnedah Golf Club.
A group of visitors from the Newcastle area were welcomed and enjoyed a day on our course.
The big winner on the day was Leon Mills with the fine score of 43 points for a win in B grade and the Guzzler’s Cup.
Gary Ford had a great return to golf with a win in A grade with 39 points, from Ian Jordan in second place with 38 points on a countback from Gavin Breen.
Neville Cruickshank was runner up in B grade with 39 points from Stuart Bray on 38.
Alex Whitby continued his good form with a win in C grade with 42 points from David Grosser on 40 points and Ken Renton was third with 36 on a countback from Steve Merlehan.
Nearest-the-pins: John Henry (2nd), Gary Francis (3rd), John Millerd (7th), Alan Nicholls (12th) and Gavin Breen (16th).

The final of the Gunnedah Auto Pro match play was played on the day and congratulations to Paul Smallpiece who defeated Tony Bennett in a fine match.
The final round of team’s golf was played on Sunday with The Gunnedah Trade Waste team winning on the day with 84 points from the Tennisees on 76.
Congratulations to Gunnedah Trade Waste who also were the overall winners for the year with The Vets team coming second.
This Saturday’s event is a stroke with trophies provided by Wayne English from Prime Engineering. It will also be the JA Berry’s Medals play-off.
The following 19 players will contest the final of the Namoi Valley Independent Stableford Shootout on Sunday.
Tee off at 8.30am and a barbecue lunch will be supplied to all players and spectators.
