There have have some remarkable match comebacks in our time but apparently none greater than that executed by Gunnedah RSL in 1984, according to renown league stats guru David Middleton.
The opposition was the Moree Boomerangs which looked home by a country mile after leading 40-0 at half-time.
Gunnedah went on to win 48-46 according to Middleton's tweet, however we've been reliably informed by a local source the winning margin was quite possibly four points, not two, after a conversion kick was mistakenly not awarded.
Memories of the Gunnedah comeback were revived after another high scoring fight back north of the border.
Central Queensland club Moranbah led 36-0 at 60-minute mark during a match last Saturday against Sarina, footy follower Michael Wedel tweeted, only to lose 40-36.
