GUNNEDAH Family Day Care Service continues to exceed the national standard, as new figures reveal family day care is leading the way in both quality and growth in Gunnedah and across Australia.
The Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority’s quarterly report on the National Quality Framework (NQF), this week revealed Gunnedah Family Day Care has set the bar high in the local region, having been assessed and given an overall rating of exceeding the standard in all seven quality areas.
Gunnedah Family Day Care Manager Kerrie Patterson said the centre is proud of its achievements.
“We pride ourselves on running a high quality service providing education for our families,” Mrs Patterson said.
“It proves the quality is there in a small, unique family-orientated environment.”
The report also shows that family day care continues to be the nation’s fastest growing form of child care with an increase of 13 per cent from June through to September this year.
Chief Executive Officer of Family Day Care Australia, Carla Northam said the figures highlighted the family day care services’ commitment to quality outcomes for children.
“I am delighted but by no means surprised by the NQF snapshot,” Ms Northam said.
“The passion and unwavering commitment of family day care services to excellence and quality is reflected in this report.
“Family day care is an essential community service, providing quality, flexible early childhood education and care to tens of thousands of working Australian families.”
There are more than 125,000 children enrolled in family day care across Australia which accounts for 12 per cent of Australia’s early childhood education and care sector.
