More than 40 Budget rental cars, 4WDs and mini buses have been awaiting the arrival at the airport's rear carpark for those actors shooting scenes at the Kent farm location, as well as lighting, technical and sound crew and production staff.
Oscar winner Eva Marie Saint, who will play Superman's earth mother Martha Kent, has reportedly started filming at the Breeza property after arriving in Sydney with her husband last week.
The 80-year-old is expected
to be here for a month while filming takes place on parts of
Bryan Singer's Superman Returns.
One avid film buff, who has been following the progress of the Kent farm construction, contacted The Leader yesterday and said the set was complete and it appeared filming had started.
"The sheds have gone up on the property near where the barn is and it's complete and looks great. This farm is like nothing we have in Australia," the buff said.
A number of silos have been built on the property and painted to look old and rusty. One of the silos has been built about 1.5km from the farm house with a flat top on it for scenes involving the Man of Steel.
Cranes can be seen around the house and barn, while a number of tents have been dotted around the property. A mystery object, which is rumoured to be an alien craft of some sort can also be seen, however there has been no official word on its identity.
All filming in the area will be conducted at two sites on the farming property, focusing around the Kent farm and the craft crash site, and is set to continue until the end of March.
Sydney-based production company Red Sun Productions have set up an office in Tamworth while the majority of the film's crew are reported to be staying in local accommodation.
Gunnedah Shire Council, where the property is located within, has constructed a number of access roads for the production and expects to benefit from the international coverage.
More details about the filming is expected within the coming days.
