The Gunnedah debutant won his exhibition, three-round bout at the Dan Durham Memorial Boxing Tournament in convincing fashion against Sean Clark from the Les Hall Boxing Gym.
The referee stopped the fight in just the second round such was Ford’s dominance.
“To come out here in front of the home crowd was unbelievable,” Ford said post-fight.
“It was pretty surreal, not what you expect.
“It takes your breath away for a moment, it’s like you’re in another world
“It’s probably the best sporting moment I’ve had to be honest.”

Ford was visibly nervous entering the ring but it didn’t take long for training to take hold and the contest was over in a matter of minutes.
“I’m over the moon, a lot of hard work has gone into this – four or five months of hard training,” he said.
“Coming from a league background, I had to step it up a level.
“I’ve got so much appreciation for what these boxers do.”
Ford thanked his opponent who “came out swinging” and jabbed him “a couple of good ones” as take-home souvenirs before the fight was out.
He also thanked his training assistance from Jobert Delos Reyes, Richard Dumaluan and Spike Syphers at Gunnedah’s Black and Blue Boxing Gym.
