POLICE have praised crowds at the Tamworth Country Music Festival for good behaviour, after the city was flooded with more than 100 additional cops during the event.

Oxley police commander Superintendent Kylie Endemi said there were "no significant incidents to report" during the festival, despite thousands of new faces in Tamworth.
"We, of course, experienced some minor incidents but they were dealt with by police in a really swift manner, so they didn't impact on the festival at all," she said.
She said festival-goers had proven to be well behaved "by-and-large", including by following lingering COVID-19 rules.

More than 100 additional police were dispatched to assist the Oxley Police District during the week-long event as part of Operation Tamworth Country Music Festival 2022.
Superintendent Endemi there were "really low levels" of arrests and infringement notices issued during the festival as a result of the additional resources.
"Because [incidents] were dealt with in a really swift manner, because we had the policing resources dedicated to the operation, there were no significant incidents to report," she said.
"It was really pleasing to see the police interact in such a positive way with the community. We had a significant number of proactive interventions with people."
Police were dispatched to assist Tamworth cops from other parts of the district, from the western region and from specialist commands from across the state.
Meanwhile, police issued hundreds of fines during a highway patrol crackdown over the Anzac Day weekend.
Peel Highway Patrol manager Inspector Kelly Wixx said 3500 vehicles were stopped in the blitz, with 17 drug drivers detected and nine charged with drink driving. Police issued 104 speeding tickets, five people were fined for not wearing a seatbelt, four for using a mobile phone while driving, 163 other driving offences were detected.
