The 29-year-old was formally denied bail at Gunnedah Local Court on Thursday and his case returns in February.
Oxley Police District launched an investigation after reports an allegedly stolen fuel card was used to put petrol into an allegedly stolen Nissan X-trail at a servo in Gunnedah last Friday.
Later that day, police were engaged in two pursuits with the vehicle as the driver allegedly tried to evade officers.
Following inquiries, detectives, officers and the dog squad visited a home at Jaegar Avenue, where Stevens was arrested after he allegedly tried to jump out of a window.
He was charged with drive conveyance without consent of owner; dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception; knowingly deal with proceeds of crime; three counts of drive whilst disqualified; two counts of police pursuit; drive speed dangerous; drive manner dangerous; and revocation of parole.
He has not entered any pleas and did not apply for bail on Thursday.

Later that day, police were engaged in two pursuits with the alleged stolen vehicle through Curlewis and Gunnedah as the driver allegedly tried to evade officers.
Following inquiries, detectives, Gunnedah Police Station officers and the dog squad visited a home at Jaegar Avenue on Wednesday.
