AS flooding eases in Gunnedah, levels have peaked at Narrabri, while the swollen Namoi River at Wee Waa continues to leave the community isolated.

On Wednesday afternoon, flooding at Gunnedah finally fell below the minor flood level, and peak levels passed through Narrabri, with the highest levels seen there on Monday with major flooding.
Major flooding continues downstream at Wee Waa, and is expected for the remainder of the week.
On Wednesday, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued a minor to major flood warning for the Namoi River at Boggabri, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Bugilbone and Goangra.
While NSW State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers have been kept busy with clean-up efforts beginning in some communities, rescues are also taking place.

On Tuesday night at 6pm, a NSW SES flood rescue team was called out to a flood rescue of a women who had become trapped when taking a short cut home.
The SES supported by Fire & Rescue NSW quickly located the female and assisted her to safety.
"This is a reminder to everyone, the majority of our flood rescues occur when vehicles drive in to flood water, but walking through it is not safe either," NSW SES Narrabri Unit Commander Sarah Rushton said.
On Wednesday, a number of roads remained close across the region due to flooding.
The Kamilaroi Highway is closed between Boggabri and Gunnedah, between Wee Waa and Narrabri and between Wee Waa and Walgett.
Grain Valley Road between the Oxley Highway and Kamilaroi Highway in Boggabri also remains closed.
Clifton Road is closed between Carroll and Breeza and Pilliga Road is closed between Wee Waa and Pilliga.
Killarney Gap Road is closed between Narrabri and Bingara
