JUST TWO new cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the local area in the latest update.
Moree added only one new infection in today's numbers, after recording 11 new cases on Monday.
While Tamworth enjoyed a donut day yesterday, one new case has been reported up to 8pm last night.
Across the Hunter New England Health (HNEH) district there have been 16 new cases confirmed in the latest update, almost half the numbers from the day before.
Five of the patients were in isolation for their entire infectious period and 11 were infectious in the community.
Of the 16 cases across the health district, 13 are linked to known exposures or clusters and three are currently unlinked.
HNEH has released testing rates which show that testing has dropped off dramatically this week, with more than 660 locals getting tested on Monday last week compared to 345 on Friday.
More than 400 people were tested across the weekend in Tamworth.
Swab statistics have also dropped off slightly in Gunnedah, according to HNEH.
NSW recorded 173 new infections and two deaths in the 24 hour period to 8pm Monday.
Across the state, 91.9 per cent of eligible residents aged over 16 have been fully vaccinated and 94.4 per cent have received their first jab.
