AFTER the weekend was spent bracing for floods, wind, and rain people headed to Tamworth's parks and streets this week as the sunshine returned.
Most residents spent the weekend indoors as floods were expected to turn the city into a swamp.
However Tamworth remained relatively unscathed with the flood watch on the Peel River being cancelled on Thursday and strike force flood teams stood down on Friday.
While the city avoided floods, wild weather was still felt around the streets with wind and rain bringing back memories of winter.
So it was no surprise that Tamworthians created their own type of flood when friends and families flocked to parks and playgrounds when the sun came back out this week.
But many made the most of it while they could with more rain on the forecast for this weekend.
