Once again, the library is a collection point for the Community Christmas Tree Toy Appeal. Library visitors are invited to donate an unwrapped toy for distribution to families in need throughout the Shire. Collections close on Friday December 10, 2021. Due to COVID restrictions, pre-loved toys, pre-loved clothing or food donations cannot be accepted.
Spotlight: Magazines!
With six weeks to Christmas, the tension and stress levels may be slowly rising.
Come to the library where we have plenty of magazines that are excellent to flick through while having a much deserved cuppa and a few minutes off your feet.
There are some nice new titles that you might wish to explore:
'Breathe: and make time for yourself' is a magazine with themes of wellbeing, mindfulness, creativity and escaping.
The same company does a publication for younger people called 'Teen Breathe', exploring themes called be happy, be brave, be kind, and be yourself.
Something for parents is 'Mindful Parenting - nourishment for the nurturer'
Feeling creative? Try '100 days of ...' Each issue features 60 + techniques which include knitting, crochet, embroidery, paper craft, beading and more for various skill levels - lovely to look at even if you don't think you want to tackle anything new at the moment!
Three old favourites: Better Homes and Garden, House & Garden and Home Beautiful are full of ideas for Christmas table settings, foods, decorations and home made gifts.

Spotlight: New Books!
Lots of new books have been added to the library shelves during the last week.
Amongst the titles are The Garden of Hopes and Dreams by Australian author Barbara Hannay. The book is set in a rooftop apartment building in Brisbane where two gardeners try to establish a community garden - a great read!
Fans of Tom Clancy will enjoy Target Acquired starring Jack Ryan Jr. The book is written by Don Bentley.
Cooks will enjoy The Australian Women's Weekly Gluten Free Favourites which contain over 65 recipes with easy directions and yummy photos.
Want to get your child eating anything and everything? Check out We Can All Eat That! Raise healthy, adventurous eaters and help prevent food allergies by Pam Brook. The book is full of recipes and has handy hints for younger babies, older babies, and toddlers.
