The long-time coach is a finalist for Tennis NSW's annual awards in the Coaching Excellence - Performance category.
"It was a bit of a surprise," Martin said of finding out he was a finalist.
"But very honoured."

The first time he has been a finalist for the award he said it is a nice acknowledgement for all of the hard work.
"You do do a lot of work," he said. "You're down there (the courts) six days a week and go away with a lot of the more elite players to tournaments."
The awards will be held virtually on Thursday night.
The region is well-represented on finalist list with Armidale Tennis Club member Maurie Stephen is up for the Most Outstanding 30+ Senior player award, and Armidale's Sandon Public School one of four finalists for the Most Outstanding School.
