Located in The Atrium, Ultimate Fish Tamworth will supply locals with a variety of Cichlids, Tropical and Salt Water Fish and aquatic supplies.

Beyond your standard equipment like filters, food, tests kits and lights, owner Justin Manning said the store would provide customers with a unique and fin-tastic experience.

"I've got a lot of imports for people who are really into it."

As a child Mr Manning said you would find him in the aquarium section at his local pet shop, which was where he realised his dream of one day owning his own store.

"You could never get me out of the place," he said.

After trying to find fish for his own salt water tanks Mr Manning said Tamworth had a lack of equipment and supplies, which meant he had to travel.

Instead of commuting Mr Manning decided to take the opportunity to fulfill his childhood dream and open his own store.

"I couldn't get a hold of anything here so I was driving up to Armidale all the time," he said.

"There's not a lot in terms of African and American Cichlids and Peacocks.

"That's what made me decide to do a shop of my own."

Mr Manning said Ultimate Fish had something for everyone, from pet fish ready to join local Tamworth families to rare species for the more experienced fish keepers.

The new store is the second fish shop to open in Tamworth in recent months.

Tamworth Tropicals opened it's doors on Calala Lane in May earlier this year offering locals a variety of colourful and tropical fish for those looking for a new pet.
