Gunnedah will host three days of walk-up Pfizer vaccinations at the showground from Monday thanks to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, before it moves to Mullaley, Curlewis, Werris Creek and Quirindi.
But with lockdown ending on Saturday and the ability to move between LGAs returning, organisers say travelling to access the clinics isn't necessary with plans to roll them out across the broader region, including Tamworth.
Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey said there's no real need for people from outside of Gunnedah to come into the town for a vaccination.
"There will be opportunities for residents from other shires in the future, so we're encouraging people not to travel and for those residents of Gunnedah seeking a Pfizer vaccination, please come out to one of those opportunities," he said.

"My understanding is that they won't turn people away, however it has been coordinated with the sole purpose of helping Gunnedah residents to get access to the Pfizer vaccine and help with our endeavour to lift our vaccination rates.
"There will be many other clinics happening throughout the region."
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said there will be other Pfizer walk-up hub locations in the region announced in the coming weeks.
"Please let those communities get their vaccinations, there's no need to travel long distances, keep it safe and the least that we travel the safer we are at this point in time," he said.
