There is no lingering ill-effect from Gunnedah coach Mick Schmiedel's decision last round to give his charges the cold shoulder, Dogs skipper Reece Jaeger has said.

Jaeger said it was business as usual at Bulldogs training this week, after Schmiedel opted not to address his players at half-time and at full-time following their 48-6 away loss to the Roosters.

Ahead of Gunnedah's home clash against Boggabri for the annual Boyde Campbell Cup on Saturday, Jaeger said: "As a playing group, we're as frustrated as what he [Schmiedel] is.
"He sees the potential he's working with.
"As he explained to the guys, after a 48-6 loss there's no point coming in [to the dressing room] and giving everyone a spray - because what good is it gonna do?"
On Saturday, fifth-placed Gunnedah will aim to snap a three-game losing run when they meet a sixth-placed Roos side coming off a 34-20 defeat of Dungowan.
Jaeger said: "It's a massive game in the context of our season, as well as being a big day for both clubs and both communities."
He added: "We spoke pretty openly as a playing group on Sunday after the game.
"It was just one of those games ... We don't really need to think about it - push it to the side and move on."
Gunnedah "probably" put in their best training sessions this week since the preseason, said the solidly built No 6.
"So we've bounced back pretty good," he added.
Gunnedah needs to improve their discipline and execution to get their season back on track, he continued.
"We're very keen, but we're confident as well," he said of Saturday's encounter.
Jaeger said the Bulldogs were not in panic mode, as they were only one win outside the top four with seven rounds remaining.
"So we've had a look at everyone and we get to play everyone again," he added.
This week Gunnedah welcome back KC Edmonds, Jacko Brookman and Kih McDonald.
