When the three-year-old lines up in the $40,000 Peel Valley Tyres Showcase Country Maiden Plate (1000m), it will be his ninth career start after previously being raced by the Stephen O'Halloran stable.
Freethinker has had just two places, one of them coming three weeks ago for Torrens.

The Gunnedah trainer was pleased with that run over 1000m at Tamworth when Freethinker finished a length behind the winner.
"Very happy first up with him. He drew a wide gate, did a bit of work and still found the line," Torrens said.
"With natural fitness from the first run, you think that will definitely help."
As for her gelding's name, Torrens thought it was fitting. Freethinker doesn't mind doing his own thing.
"He's a bit of a dude. He's got his own little quirks but he's generally a good, little horse," she said.
"He's a cheeky, little fella."
Torrens will also take She's Spicy to Tamworth for the TAB.com.au Showcase Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000m).
The six-year-old is also second-up but is returning from a 12-month break following surgery on her fetlock joints.
Torrens said She's Spicy was "a good mare" and while she finished eighth last start, the trainer was glad she got through the run. "She did exactly that and walked out sound," Torrens said.
Gavin Groth will also be taking the one runner over with his ultra-consistent gelding Redemption Road to contest the Rapidclean Showcase Class 3 Handicap (1400m).
The TJC showcase meeting will see eight races run with a minimum of $30,000 in prizemoney for each race.
Race one jumps at 12.15pm.
