A black tie charity ball held at the Gunnedah Town Hall on Saturday night was extremely successful with 250 people dolling up for a special cause.
The evening raised $35,000 for the refuge, hitting the committee's fundraising target and allowing them to now purchase a double lockup garage, driveway and security lockup.
The ball was a total sell-out, and Jobs Australia's Tracey Reid said it was a raging success and the support from the community was amazing.
"The whole Gunnedah community got behind us, everyone was dressed up and looked absolutely fantastic," she said.
"It was a sell-out, McLean Care came on as our major sponsor which was a relief."

Money was raised mostly through ticket sales, which contributed $21,000 to the final figure, and a charity auction notched up $13,000.
Numerous local businesses made a show of generosity on the night through donations with Forsyths Accounting gifting $2000 and Williams Interiors in Sydney donating $1000.
The Gunnedah Women's AFL team also contributed $1000 and Provincial Printery Gunnedah was also a great supporter.
Numerous local businesses pitched in on the night, and organisers thanked everyone who contributed.
The committee now sets their sights on a fundraising golf day, with ongoing charity efforts to continue to keep up with costs associated with day-to-day running of the refuge.
