WARM winter woollies are key to keeping the cold away, but it can be hard for some of the region's most vulnerable.
The amount of people seeking support from local services has soared well above pre-COVID levels, making a fresh appeal for cash and donations even more important.
Vinnies has launched its nationwide winter appeal for money, and has reminded locals to gift the winter woollies they no longer need.
"We see a lot more people and their need is urgent; they walk in the door and need assistance straight away."
Mr Donnan said the winter appeal calls for cash to help services in the local areas.
"We've seen a lot of new clients," he said.
The director also assured residents any donated goods will stay in the region to support the local community through the cold weather.
He said homelessness isn't always sleeping rough. In the Tamworth region couch-surfing is a big issue, people face the risk of homelessness as they struggle to make ends meet.
Donations can be made online.
