The council is still waiting on $9 million in funding from the flooding that hit Narrabri in 2020, and after the March floods, even more money is needed to fix damaged roads.
Narrabri mayor Ron Campbell said the council hadn't received any notification on when the $9 million would be made available.
"We've been patching up lots of things, waiting for this money to arrive to do it properly," Cr Campbell said.
"It is very much in front of council's mind to repair those roads."
Transport for NSW director west Alistair Lunn said there was work going on behind the scenes.
"Transport for NSW is prioritising and continuing to work with Narrabri Shire Council to assist with the level of detail required for the council's claim for natural disaster funding from 2020," Mr Lunn said.
"The recent flood event will not impact on the timeliness of processing this claim."

Cr Campbell said a lot of the roads were still closed after the most recent floods hit the shire, particularly in the Bellata, Edgeroi and Millie areas.
"SR1 Millie Road was heavily flooded in that last flood and the 2020 flood as well, so that's a priority," he said.
"In the Millie area they're used to floods, and their buildings and stuff have all been built out of the water but it affects the fences and road infrastructure.
"There's also the Spring Plains Road and Melburra Road. Melburra Road was affected not so much by flood but the creek flowing through. There's a number of dips and causeways along that road and those have been damaged."
The council hasn't applied for funds after the most recent floods, but it is eligible for natural disaster funding.
"You've got to prove the roads were better before hand. It's kind of like proving an insurance claim," Cr Campbell said.
"It's a long process and unfortunately it's taken a long time and with all the other floods if that's going to impact us."
