The combination of Scott Thorning, Tim Thorning, Paul Lodge, Brodie Towns, Dylan Eather, Andrew Cameron, Wayne Campbell, Kevin Selway, Pete Hubbard, Brian Shepphard, Greg Campbell and Paul Daniels snuck home for the win 54-53 to advance to the finals, which will be played at the Northmead & Toongabbie Bowling Club in July.
It was a big effort with South Tamworth winning two of the three rinks and up by about 10 shots with about six or seven ends to go, Scott Thorning, who skipped one of the three fours and is also the bowls coordinator for the club, said.

But Gunnedah won the remaining ends, the team of Dylan Eather, Andrew Cameron, Wayne Campbell and Kevin Selway picking up a one on the last end of their game to seal the win for them.
It's the third time the club has had a side qualify for the finals in the last five years.
In 2017 the Grade 4's played at Forster and in 2018 the Grade 3's made it all the way to the semi-finals.
Last year they were only half-way through the qualifying process when COVID hit.
The Grade 6 and 7 sides also played on the weekend.
The Grade 6's played in a round robin competition against Uralla and Quirindi.
After accounting for Uralla 70-61 first-up, they were then beaten by Quirindi 68-53 to just miss out on progressing on margins after all three sides finished on 10 points.
The Grade 7's meanwhile beat Oxley in their first game 56-84 before going down to Walcha 61-59 and Murrurundi 60-55.
Several of the players will be back on the greens this weekend in the club's Easter bowls tournament.
An annual event for the club for a number of years it has drawn a capacity 28 teams for the three days.
"We've got teams coming from the Gold Coast, all things going well, a heap from the Central Coast, a couple coming from Port Macquarie and Bateau Bay - from all over the place," Thorning said.
"A lot of them have been coming here for a few years now."
He said probably about half the field are regulars that come back each year to play.
Sponsored by Gunnedah Automotive and Aristocrat there will be more than $6000 in prizemoney on offer.
Friday and Saturday will be traditional pairs with Sunday a three-bowl pairs event.
