Coming from the likes of western NSW, the Hunter and Sydney, the competitors and their owners were the centre of attention around town, with hundreds of people coming along to have a look at the event which lasted from Friday to Sunday.
Not only did it provide some joy to the spectators, owners and of course the dogs themselves, but it was a major win for local businesses with such a large amount of people coming to town.
In terms of the competition, there were five Best in Show awards handed out across the three days, although three of those were claimed by the same dog - a skye terrier from Gulgong which showed incredible discipline.
The other two were taken out by a whippet from Newcastle and a labrador retriever from Cessnock.
Despite threatening to ruin the fun, wet weather barely caused an issue and the immaculate coats of the competing canines were thankfully unscathed.
The Gunnedah Kennel Club hired out their grounds so the show could go ahead, and secretary Tom Couchman said it was an excellent showcase with plenty of highlights.

"The awards of best in show and best of age groups are the climax of any dog show," he said.
"I've estimated that there was up to 100 on each day of public visitors that passed through the venue."
Being a competitive event, there was a lot to get through with the show lasting approximately eight hours on Friday and Saturday and about seven hours on Sunday.
