There are databases suited for primary-school age children, as well as those for adults.
Let's take a look at the information available about the country of Kazakhstan.
A cultural overview tells us that half of the overall population are ethnic Kazakh, while one-third are Russian. Society in Kazakhstan is very multi-cultural and racism is rarely an issue. Located north-east of China, the country also shares borders with Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Russia.
The population density is low, particularly in the interior, and with a median age of 29.7 years for men and 32.2 years for women, it is a relatively youthful country.
World Trade Press has a database with images of Kazakhstan's currency, coins and notes, and an overview of their banking and money system. There is information on national symbols, points of interest, music, holidays and history. There are recipes for traditional Kazakh food and drink and an explanation of the Kazakh naming system.
A video dictionary in one database shows how simple greetings and phrases are spoken, while another database is dedicated to languages alone and has more detailed videos on counting and numbers, asking directions, transportation, weather and for emergencies.
There are teaching tools and lesson plans available for all countries and the pages can be shared to Google Classroom. There is a handy 'Cite this Document' tool that will give you the information for the webpage in three main citation formats.
