Originally from Arusha, a city in north eastern Tanzania not far from Mt Kilimanjaro, Ms Kyungai has spent her whole life surrounded by African arts, craft and clothing. It's what she loves.
"These are the things that I've been doing since I was little," she said.
"I just love natural stuff, and things which can be made. Because there's so much fashion."
Making the move to the New England region nearly five years ago, she based herself at Tamworth and built a following selling African inspired textiles, jewellery, paintings and carvings.
Some items are completely traditional and have been collected from all over Africa, others have a more modern twist and are made in Australia from imported materials.
In January, Ms Kyungai decided to open up her shop African Art and Craft at 176 Conadilly Street, Gunnedah and has been blown away by the support.
The store is a mosaic of colour and fabric with items made from ebony, rafia, mud cloth and Masai beads work.
She said she enjoys the work because it comes from the African culture and it's a good thing to continue in Australia because "we are so multicultural".
"The country really suits nice with what I do because it's not only African people who come to my store or deal with me," she continued.
"I would say about 80 per cent of my customers are other cultures.
"Most people who have been to Africa go crazy when they see my store because when they visit and they come back to Australia, they really admire what they have seen in Africa."
The store is also home to a cafe, so you can get your coffee fix and have lunch while you visit.
Opening hours are from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm Saturday.
