Investigations are under way after a driverless truck crash caused thousands of dollars worth of damage, resulting in a "protracted" clean up process along a street in Willow Tree, near Tamworth.

Police have confirmed the truck was not being driven at the time of its destructive descent on Eipper Street, just before 4pm on Sunday.
The B-double truck was at a nearby repair shop when it started rolling down the hill.
It smashed into a home after collecting and dragging a power pole for 50 metres down the road.

As a result, the power had to be cut to 240 homes and businesses while Essential Energy crews worked quickly to get the scene under control.
Essential Energy's Northern community relations manager, Bronya Pressler, said crews discovered the truck had impacted the electricity network, causing a power pole to snap at ground level.
"The truck dragged the power pole around 50 metres from the impact site before crashing into a house on Eipper Street," Ms Pessler explained.
Murrurundi Fire and Rescue Station 390 were one of the multiple emergency service crews attending the crash.
They were joined by the Willow Tree Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance, NSW Police, Liverpool Plains Shire Council and Murrurundi SES, whom they thanked for "their support in what became a protracted incident".
It was called a "different type of motor vehicle collision".
"On arrival it was apparent the truck had taken out power poles and electricity supply wires which were still hanging over the truck which was now embedded into the front of the house," a Fire and Rescue statement read.
"Fortunately there was nobody in the truck, and just as lucky (sic) there was nobody in the house."
While Essential Energy crews worked to isolate the electricity, the other teams made efforts to ensure the heavy vehicle couldn't continue downhill.
"The recovery of the truck from the house took a considerable amount of time due to it being caught on the houses structural piers and the risk of sparks to leaking fuel as it was dragged," the Fire and Rescue team said.
The truck was finally fully removed from the house by midnight.
Oxley Police District officers are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
