Boggabri residents can now have their say on a draft flood study for the town.
The study determines the nature and extent of a range of possible flood events in the vicinity of the Boggabri township.
The council said it provided invaluable information including; flood levels, depths, as well as flood hazard categories for a full range of design flood events.
Narrabri Shire Council mayor Ron Campbell said the primary objective was "to improve our understanding of flood behaviour and impacts to better inform ourselves on flood risk in the Boggabri area"
"I encourage members of the Boggabri community to review the draft flood study while on public exhibition and lodge a submission should they wish to," Mr Campbell said.
The study is currently on exhibition until Monday, February 1, and is available to view at the Boggabri Library, Narrabri Shire Council administration building and on the council's website.
Narrabri Shire Council meeting endorsed the draft study for public exhibition at its December council meeting.
The project was supported by the NSW Government's Floodplain Management Grant Program in association with the council.
The completion of the study signifies the completion of stage one and two of the six stage NSW Floodplain Management Process.
