The Christmas Hams meeting fell just short of cracking 200 nominations for the Gunnedah Jockey Club this year.

There was 199 horses nominated for the seven-race program on Saturday.
Three races drew in more than 30 nominations.
"That's as good as we've got for a while," Edmonds said of the total nominations.

"I'm not being facetious or anything but we always attract good nominations. They like to run on the track. It's wide and has a nice long straight. It's very seldom there's any bias - only when there's a wet track."
Rain is predicted to fall in Gunnedah over the next few days but it doesn't look like it will be enough to have a massive effect on the track.
"We'll need a fair bit [of rain]. If we get 30mm or something [the track will be wet] but it doesn't look like we'll get that," Edmonds said.
"I was there this morning [Wednesday]. It looks really good. There's good grass cover. The track manager [Paul Walsh] has done a terrific job with the track."
Gunnedah will be well represented on the day by their local trainers.
Gavin Groth nominated 10 horses for the meeting, Sally Torrens put five horses forward while Joseph Craig nominated just the one runner.
The meeting will be slightly different to other years with a 500-person capacity - excluding race officials - on track due to covid restrictions.
That allotment has already been filled for the race day which is set to be a hot one. The temperature is set to hit 38 degrees on Saturday. The Bureau of Meteorology also says there's a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.
